Prepared and amplified drumset

This project explore a way to imitate a complete « noise rock band » only using the acoustic drumkit (without any triggers or samples). Mixed with hand-made piezzo microphones and various strings as additional source, the drumset became a new instrument able to create notes, harmonies and drones. By the way, the use of effects like distortions, loopers or delays open a large range of possibilities to build beats and riffs. In the end, all those sounds are meticulously distributed in various guitar and bass amps that creates a real impression of « live playing band ».
Being a solo play, the music is mostly improvised, using specificities of performative spaces (like the huge tanks of lime at Les FAC in St-Ursanne) and, of course... loud!
